The LSB is once again closing the year at Carbone’s

Well, it appears we have a new tradition in the Lazy Susan Band cinematic universe: for the third (?) year in a row, we’ve set our last show on the calendar to be at our favorite local pizza-slash-music room, Carbone’s! We’re SO looking forward to playing under that mural again, hoisting some beers with you all, and dishing out some of our favorite songs for your ears while your taste buds are filled with delicious pie. Heck, j.bell even promised to deliver some extra face-melting solos to keep those slices warm.

And, we know it’s Dangerous to reveal the special set list surprises we have in store, but since Your Heart is Like a Disco Ball, we’ve decided we’ll get a Thimble Full of Fuel at the Edge of Town in order to say this: at Carbone’s, we feel like we’re Comin’ Home. Get your reservations now and we’ll see you one week from tonight!

Three weeks from tonight: the LSB at Ham Lake Brewfest!

Happy fall, Lazy Susan fans! Mike D. checking in again, now that I’ve noticed it’s been months since we last posted! We’ve already started our fall gigs and so we figured we’d better let you know about what’s left in the coming months. Of course, all the details are on our Events page, but we wanted to give an extra mention to our first appearance at the Ham Lake Brewfest on October 5th. That’s just three weeks from tonight, and as far as we know tickets are still available. Just $30 in advance ($40 at the gate) buys you a program, sample cup, unlimited samples (beer!), yard games and live bands. Wait – that’s us! Oh, and also the amazing singer-songwriter Sarah VanValkenburg is opening up.

We hope to see you there! If you can’t make it, we’ll be back at River Siren in Stillwater on October 19th and close out our calendar year at Carbone’s in Minneapolis on November 23rd. Take care of yourselves and enjoy the fall foliage!

Holy Cannoli, Look at All Those Summer JBLSB Shows!

Happy June, Lazy Susan Fans! We hope the start of your summer is already going well. And we wanted to drop some announcements for you. First the small amount of bad news: unfortunately our June 21 show at Outtakes in New Hope has been postponed. But we hope that’s far outshone by the fact that we have over a dozen gigs on our events calendar between now and the end of August, including four full band shows. That all starts tomorrow (6/7) as we head down to Albert Lea for our second consecutive appearance at the Eddie Cochran Car Show & Music Festival.

And if you haven’t already heard the recent big announcement, we’ll be opening up once again for Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers at the High Noon Saloon in Madison, WI on July 6th!

Pair that with our July 26th return to the RippleSippi music festival in Aitkin, in support of the legendary Gear Daddies, and you can only imagine how excited we are for this summer. We hope to see you at one or more of these gigs!

Last Chance to Get Reservations for the Aster Show on 3/22!

Just a quick note for all our friends and fans out there that we have only “two more sleeps” until we rock the Aster Cafe in Minneapolis opening up for Ben Cook-Feltz, aka BCF! Did we mention that we’ll be debuting a brand new song at this show? And we’re bringing back an “oldie” from long ago, plus one other set list surprise? Well, now you know!

In other words, if you haven’t already made your reservations, it’s time to go make them now. This is going to be one heck of a night, and we promise it’ll make you forget about the cold air outside…for at least a few hours!

Three LSB performances in March, including a return to the Aster Cafe with BCF!

Well, Lazy Susan fans, February gets an extra day this year, but Punxsutawney Phil says spring is coming early, so we figure now is as good a time as any to let you know about our shows booked for March! (Mike said we should put Phil in charge of these blog posts, but he got outvoted.)

But let’s not bury the lede, here, folks – we’re uber excited to announce we’ll be returning to the Aster Cafe in Minneapolis on March 22! The Aster is absolutely one of our favorite rooms to play in the Twin Cities and it’s even better that we get to share the stage with Ben Cook-Feltz again. As usual, we’re going to suggest that you get your reservations early, because history tells us this gig will sell out. And if that wasn’t enough motivation for you, we’re planning to sprinkle in some unusual song choices, including the live debut of a brand new song. So click that reservation link now so you don’t miss it, mmkay?

But wait! That’s not the only full band show on the books – we’ll also be returning to the Block North Brew Pub in downtown Aitkin on March 9. We love making the trip “up north” to see our fans and friends in that area, and rumor has it this won’t be our only trip there this year. But nevertheless, we’re itching to get back after helping them celebrate the opening of their “Locker Room” last winter.

And if you’ve read this far, perhaps you’re wondering what this third performance is about – well, March 21 will see the LSB Trio’s first trip of 2024 to Rush River Brewing in River Falls, Wisconsin – but not the last! What pairs better with good beer than the LSB?

Yep, that’s two full band shows, one trio performance, three towns and two states for March. And if you haven’t been paying attention to our events page, now is a good time to peek and see more about how the rest of 2024 is shaping up. See you soon!

Happy Holidays from the LSB

You could probably get some Christmas lights on that cactus in the background.

With tomorrow night serving as the winter solstice, we thought it would be a good time to wish you all a happy holiday season! As we look forward to the coming New Year, it’s hard not to look back and marvel at what an amazing year we had in 2023. We did a short tour in Arizona and Mexico, broke in some brand new (for us) venues from Aitkin to Albert Lea, and played our very first theater stage. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg!

All told, we delivered over 30 shows and gave our all at every single one. We’re so thankful to all of the venues, staff, friends, and fans who showed up to help celebrate music with us. As is our new tradition, we’ve set up a 2023 show archive page so we can remember what a great year it was.

We’re taking a short break over the holidays, but it won’t last long! You can already see some gigs filling in for 2024 over at our Events page, and we promise that list will continue to grow as soon as Mike forgets what his New Years’ resolutions are.

Thank you all SO much for joining us out and about in 2023 – see you next year!

Celebrate 2023 with JBLSB at Carbone’s

Well, Lazy Susan fans, the leaves on the trees are falling and that typically means that our show calendar is slowing down. But we’ve got one more (public) full band gig in us, coming up this Saturday, 11/11, at Carbone’s in Minneapolis. At the time of this writing, reservations were filling up pretty quickly, so you might want to get yours now while the gettin’ is good.

Much like we did last year around this time, we’re using this occasion to pull out some unique gems in our set list, meaning you can show up and hear some songs that you won’t often hear at our other shows. We really enjoy putting thought into these set lists, and hope you enjoy the variety!

Looking back on 2023, it’s been a pretty special year for us, starting with our 10-day mini tour centered around January Jam in Mexico – which you can of course relive via our January tour tribute page. Add in our first-time visits to new venues from Aitkin to St. Paul, and we’re incredibly grateful for the opportunities we’ve had this year, as well as all of you who came out to support us. See you Saturday night in Minneapolis!

Only one week left to get advanced Parkway tickets (and freebies)!

Don’t you want to see all these smiles on stage? That’s TWO full band performances!

Well, well, if it isn’t our old friend the Autumnal Equinox just around the corner! We’re not sure exactly what that term means, but it sounds like a cool band name, maybe for a Swedish banjo-core duo. And one thing we DO know is that one week from tonight is our big Parkway Theater show with Preston Gunderson!

We’ve spent a lot of time and energy preparing an extra special set for our theater debut, and we really hope you’ll join us for it. In fact, we’re so confident you’ll like it, we’re offering one free can coozy and one free CD to anyone that orders advance tickets. Not only do advance tickets help the awesome Parkway staff plan for the evening, but it helps us know how much merch to bring, so hit that link now and get yours!

If you have any questions about this show, hit us up on the BookFace or torture Mike by sending him a message on Instagram. (It’s so funny how frustrated he gets trying to figure out that app.)

See you on 9/29! (Doors at 7 pm, LSB at 8.)
